まもなく9月、あちこちで稲刈りが始まるシーズンです。お茶農家さんの多い藤枝では一番茶を終えて田んぼを始め6月上旬頃の田植えが多く、私たちもその頃田植えして今はまだ田んぼが青いです。

放していた合鴨達はよく働いてくれ雑草も少なく稲はよい状態です。しかし稲穂が出ると穂を食べてしまうので、8月上旬に合鴨達は田んぼから引き払いました。収穫は10月中旬の予定です。楽しみ!

Soon it will be September. Some farmers will start to harvest their rice. Now our rice field is still green, so the rice is not ready. In Fujirda, many farmers cultivate tea, so they start to plant rice in early June after they harvest spring tea.

In early August, we took the ducks from the rice field. If the ducks stayed, they would eat the rice. Now the rice is almost grown. We will harvest our rice around the middle of October.
